Can anyone tell me what DPP stands for on weaver train box.

It's on a RS-3 BOX.

If memory serves, it's a reference to both trucks being driven:  Dual Pulling Power.

 The earliest RS 3's were basically 2 rail engines with pickup rollers added. The steps were attached to the body and didn't turn with the trucks like a conventional 3 rail engine. Even though they are considered a smaller diesel. They required 042 turns. They featured a single motor with a driveshaft that attached to the motor and then to a tower that drove the truck wheels via a delrin plastic chain. These engines were smooth runners but had limited pulling power. From what I remember there was no flywheel and the chassis was plastic as well. The fact it didn't weigh much and had no provision for traction tires limited it's pulling power.

 I haven't examined the newer engines with DPP. But I assume they are built more on the lines of the engines you see in todays 3 rail market.
