I have cleaned the engine, wheels etc. When I apply one wire from my type 1033 to the frame of the engine and the oher to the pickup wheels, viola it runs very well! First problem, we would no the get the engine out of reverse...
now the question. when the forward/reverse switch is forward, the engine will run forward. if you remove the wire and reapply it the engine goes backwards and so forth. Any suggestions?

GMAN, if you really think your engine is messed up, one of the best train repair places is in Milford, Ohio; Davis Trains. They have fixed some very tough problems for me in the past.
