If you have scenery or structures close to the curved track, some minor adjustments may need to be made. My 15" MTH passenger cars hit the infrared detector box due to the overhang. I moved it about 1/8" and it works fine.

Yes, I have run modern Williams Golden Memories passenger cars on O-31 curves, and through Lionel O-22 switches. They work just fine. As others have stated, beware the overhang! Make sure if you get a set to get modern ones. I have some from the early 1980's that will not work on O-31 curves. These came with non-operating couplers.
I have the Sante Fe el Capitan set of passenger cars that are 16inches long and run fine on 031 curves, also have the King Coal set of Reading passenger cars and they can navigate 027 curves.
If not sure with Williams on curves try it & see what happens!
