Have a basket case 3559 Lionel Dump Car I want to restore. Question is how does one rewire it to make the couplers and dump bin work?
I just finished restoring a 3559. The wires from the solenoid in the car are soldered to the contact springs that touch the shoe on each truck. One wire goes to one truck, and the other wire goes to the other truck. The couplers are connected to the shoe contact springs. They shouldn't require attention unless the coil has been damaged.
