Bigboy, I would have to agree with you there. I would want some of those in my backyard too. A 355 Ferrari would not be bad at all. I would have to drive either an F430 Spider, or the Enzo. The Lamborghini Murcielago tops my list though. That or a 65 Corvette Stingray, Red with white interior and happens to have a 427.

Oh, I wouldn't bother building the track in my yard, even though I have a couple of acres. There is a great club about 7 miles from here that has 11 acres. With that kind of money, one could afford to buy a truck and trailer to haul it to other clubs around the country. Now that would be the way to spend a summer.

I also like the idea of bringing everyone here for a visit.[8D]

I would purchase the troubled Chama line. I would then donate all of my toy trains to needy children. Then, I would instate gambling excursions on the trains, and with additional funds, would extend the line to Farmington and eventually down to Mexico City, way.

I would buy the EBT and completely rebuild all the locos, buildings, track, etc.

While doing that I would go over to Marietta, OH. and arrange for the hull replating and certification of the steam plant on the W.P.Snyder, a surviving Crucible Steel sternwheel river towboat. Of course, I would reserve the right to run it whnever I felt like it!

There are a lot of steam engines just rusting away that should be restored and placed in permanent museums. Steam era tools and knowledge must be retained for future generations.

All this should keep me busy for the next ten years or so!

After I had taken care of family---grand children's schooling,etc, endowed my Church, College,the United Way , Humane Society and many others that my wife would insist on aiding, I would turn to spending [losing] the return earned on my money on trains [the quicker way to lose it is to invest in a professional minor league Hockey franchise, which I did once].

First, I would commission and special order Southeastern road steam and diesel engines and passenger equipment covering the 100 years from the late 1860s up through the steam/diesel transition era around 1960 when the N&W shut down.

Southern, N&W, Clinchfield, L&N, ACL, Seaboard, the original Norfolk Southern,Richmond, Fredricksburg & Potomac,Florida East Coast, Central of Georgia, Atlantic & Yadkin, Winston-Salem Southbound, High Point Thomasville & Denton, Aberdeen & Rockfish [ I might even add Frisco, KC Southern, Illnois Central, Texas & Pacific and other U.S roads virtually ignored by the model importers].If existing U.S.-based importers did not wi***o handle the special order business, I would retain a long-time Hong Kong/Mainland business associate to handle importing from people they already do business with. [my first choice would be to investigate building a U.S.-based production, but one would have to start from scratch, (yeah I know,but including Weaver also)].

After perhaps 5 years the Southern "Kudzu" crowd would partially catch up with the fans/modelers of Santa Fe, Pensylvania RR, New York Central, Union Pacific,etc---you know which ones. [I would concede to commission a special prototypical production of the 1918-22 Lackawanna Electrics I rode from Morristown to Hoboken daily for many years}.

I would buy, inventory and advertise for an expected,forecasted number of roadname units and operating systems: TM,DCS,Conv,etc, including most importantly, Command -ready engines and undecorated USRA and other engines that offered design/decoration flexibility and brought in T/A Studios, Jeff Sohn and other aftermarket services that have made the industry much better.

I'm talking about features, components and unit numbers that my special part-time but paid advisory board determined thru current Southeastern and U.S. market analysis and I would finance an inventory for predicted future sales. I would pay my advisory board well so I could reasonably fire them for poor performance if necessary. We would leave the illness affecting Southern and other roadname models called "Red Cab Roof Syndrome", to MTH, Lionel and the HO producers[although 'L" has gotten it right on the latest SRR Ps-4s---but they screwed up the Mountains].

I would have Quality Assurance "checkers" on my staff that would work at the various and selected importer's distribution centers to test and get it right the first time shipped.

I would fire/boycott the first staff or advisory person that suggested painting a Southern freight steam engine green or painted a Southern passenger engine's cab roof red without my documentation and permission.

Man that would be fun and at my age my winnings used for start-up capital and earnings yield to finance the on-going venture would outlast me[:)].

Well if I would have won the POWER BALL. First build my Mom a new house, then my house, then my train room. There is a old K mart building not far out side of town. I would probably do what some people don't like. Hire a layout builder to build me something small <<<<<< YEAH RIGHT !

I'd buy whatever trains I want, and wouldn't feel guilty for doing so. I'd also buy another house or 4 and commision Clarke Dunham to build me a huge layout. I'd be too busy buying and driving my new musclecars to build it myself.
