I have subscribed for umpteen years to CCT. I have a log in. I used to be able to see informative videos such as Keeping Rust Off of Trains by Hal and others. Now when I try, I get an ad for a 30 day trial with little initial information on cost. Just info that 30 days is free and then automatically monthly billing unless I act to stop it. I won't go into how I fell about this. Am I messing up somehow.

Um, no, you're not messing up. There's been some "discussion" about this subject on this and various other Kalmbach Forums. The "discussions" have not been kind, to put it mildly.
Hi--I would be curious to find out about the comments on other forums, especially the other Kalmbach forums you mentioned. And I would like to learn more about why comments have not been kindly. We have put in tremendous amounts of work and time to make Trains.com easy to use and filled with valuable content--any insights or help readers can share will be helpful.
Thanks,
Roger
I'll PM you Roger.
Roger the biggest gripe I have heard is it says $6.99 monthly billed annually at $83.88. instead of having the option of paying it monthly.
Roger - Well how about addressing the issues I raised. I appreciate the time and effort, but sometimes you get it wrong and the best effort is only annoying. I directed this type of design and thinking for over 30 years. Sit down, think you are a customer and have been a customer since your first issue. Is what you are getting what you want? Is the change for the loyal customer for their best or only a disguised way to enhance revenue. Perhaps things have changed and I no longer know what I am doing. I log on several times weekly and perhaps I'm wrong (I hope so) but I don't believe some changes have been for the better. More directly, if you want my money tell me what something costs upfront, don't hide it down 3 levels. To me a freebe that automatically charges me after a set period is not a freebe.

Hielsie,
If you are a print subscriber, you will still have unlimited access to the online track plan database. You will also be able to read 8 items per month (articles, photo galleries, etc) on the site. Videos, for the most part, are no longer accessible unless you are a Trains.com member (exceptions are issue previews and trailers for new series).
Trains.com members get an incredible amount of information for their money. You can access any article, video, photo gallery, etc for any of our five brands. Plus, you get access to the digital archives for all of the brands---thousands of issues dating back decades. New online items are added every week, items you won't see on the printed page.
