And in that spirit, direct from General Washington's Mount Vernon estate, here's the US Army's Old Guard! Have fun everyone!

I didn't turn on my computer yesterday, but did spend most of the morning watching trains on July 4th on youtube tv.
I was 10 during the Bicentennial, and it was such a big deal. My-oh-my, how the times have changed. I hope things will improve by the 250th...
Great pics guys, thanks for sharing.

Good Lord, you're just a youngster! I was a 23 year old Marine at the time!
And times certainly have changed! As to the 250th, I'll just have to wait and see.

Happy Independence to all!
Speaking about the Bicentennial, many great memories:
I was 20, and off to Europe. This trip involved a cross country journey on Amtrak, Los Angeles to New York.
2 weeks in the U.K. With a Brit Rail pass, 2 months on the continent with a Eurail pass.
The trains in Europe have become increasingly deluxe.
Amtrak is about the same...

Where was I?
Over by the locomotive of course! Ex-GTW mikado No. 4070 to be prescise.
Sweet little Chevy convertible !
