All the Christmas decorations came down this weekend, Lady Firestorm and myself being traditionalists we hold off till "Twelfth Night," however as we've got company coming we're leaving up the small fiber-optic "RoboTree" with the N gauge "Potato Special" circling it and the new aquisition, the Lionel "Bergen County Traction" trolley, circling the N gauge.
The whole thing's goofy enough we're just not ready to take it down.
An observation: Anyone besides me ever notice it takes a lot less time to take down the Christmas stuff than it takes to put it up?

Gee, ya think? Sometimes I feel like just simply going Godzilla and pick up the pieces next year!

Well as the prime minister of Japan said at the climax of that cinema classic "Godzilla 1985"...
"Maybe there's a little Godzilla in all of us!"
Love your display! Great work!!!!! Take care, Joe.
I typically leave everything up inside until mid Feburary.

Oh, that's cool! Have I got a story, got it from Lady Firestorm...
Seems that when Lady F was in high school, back in the Pleistocene Era () Christmas had passed, January was rolling into February, and the scene in her house went something like this...
"Mom!", she and her sisters pleaded with their mother, "WHEN are we going to take the Christmas tree down? It's almost Valentines Day!"
"Oh, I want to leave it up just a little longer, my friend Ginny hasn't seen it yet!"
"MOMMMMMM," they wailed, "We have to keep the drapes closed on the picture window so the neighbors won't see it! It's embarassing! It's got to come down, now!"
"Oh, all right..."
And a legend was born in Lady Firestorms family! Good thing it was artificial! If it was a live tree a month after Christmas it wouldn't be a Christmas tree anymore, it'd be a Christmas bomb!
I have left up inside Christmas decorations until Easter, so I guess I am a little eccentric. LOL (only a couple times, however)
Since I have this hosted elsewhere now I can post it here. I think this is my favorite from this year. This the MTH Lionel Corp Tinplate O Gauge 263E with 200 series passenger cars. The station is the MTH "North Pole" Polar Express colors with added Lionel lamp posts with wreaths. To the left of the locomotive is my Polar Express extras such as the conductor's hat, watch, and ticket punch. The bell and some tickets.
That IS a neat photo. It gives you a feeling of being on the platform on a cold December night waiting for the train to take you home.

Thanks, I am near Gettysburg but born and raised in Baltimore, MD where the Christmas village/layout was called a "Christmas Garden."
You're close to York. Do you go?

Never have. I don't collect or buy much new train stuff, just parts. My hobby now is more with my home-made projects and things like the Arduino and servos with the O27 trains. You might want to check my youtube videos. Here is an example of a recent project:
for an idea of where my interests are.
