Good evening all,

Very cold today.  Did get the oil changed on the minivan and paid some bills.  Had lunch with my former supervisor at the factory I worked at.   Ran some trains as well and got the tree back upstairs.  I see where Lionel is supposed to release new catalogs this week.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good Morning from a cold 8F Southern Ohio

Kids had a two hour delay and are off to school now.  Got most decorations put in the loft yesterday with the boy's help.  The second story stuff will need to wait.  Going to finish cleaning up the garage and putting everything away from the injector job.

RT-So much paperwork over so many days. You'd think they could assemble all the paperwork and sit and sign at one time.

Spank- Do you have a permanent layout at home?

Roy-Thank you for the information about routers.  I know nothing about them and I'm benefiting from your knowledge.  Our previous router was a 5 year old LinkSys and with the addition of wireless printer, iPads, computers, we were putting too much demand on the system I think.

Need to get started.  It is as warm as it's going to get.

May God bless

Well Dennis, you are not talking about me. Wink

Not pleased with the chrome job on the Trident header at all for the money.  Guess just because you have a nice looking web page don’t mean you know anything about quality work. Bang Head They did nothing but plate what they got, so I guess if you send them a perfect part you can get a perfect chrome job. The world is full of jerk offs these days. Oh well won't go there again and at least they chromed over the rust.

Good evening all,

Busy day at work.  One pain was gone, so the other was quiet for the most part.  Still was annoying at times.   Got most everything done today that I could.  Snow may keep me home the rest of the week.  That would be such a shame.....not.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Evenin' All

Today was pretty much a veg-out day. The Kid's Club "Fun Run" yesterday went great, no major catastophies. Most of the day we had two trains to a main at a time using DCS and TMCC. Now we are discussing the possibility of setting up an instructional session of running two at a time in opposing directions, that should be a quadrupple Excedrin day.

Finally convinced the BetterHalf that it was time to take down the Tree, sure glad we bought an artificial one some years back although I do miss the smell. A center piece on the table and a wreath help but still lacking.

Sounds as though you Easties are in for some weather by the weekend. Stay safe and warm.

Nite all.

Evening all well my 6440,6440, & 6441 passenger cars came Sad Was not happy at all. Been repainted in the past and not a very good job at that either. Not sure if I'm going to keep them or not have tried contacting the seller with no response so I more or less got ebay involved now waiting for seller to reply determining what he offer either return or partial refund will determine if I keep them or return them. Could be fun to redo them but would need good size refund on original price.

Other than that Midnight he's hanging in there don't ask me how as he's not eating but is drinking so guess thats what is doing it. Wish I could get him to eat a little at least enough to give him some stregnth.

Not much else going on hope all had a good day you all up north take cover for the weekend were getting cold weather but not like what your going to have.

Talk to you all later

BOC, How you doing on your menu searches ? Since I do all the cooking it has been fairly simple for us. I use my old recipes and just change the ingredients. Initially it was either fresh or frozen for veggies but now some canned stuff is available with no added salt. Still can't really go out for dinner unless you want to eat rabbit food, salad w/very little to no dressing.

Oh well, just think of it as a challenge.

Anybody heard from the Chief ?

Good morning,

It is 10 degrees and snowing right now here in Dayton, OH.  I love the cold and snow and look forward to going outside to shovel.  Unfortunately, I have to fly to Florida today for work and will return this Saturday, by then all the snow will be gone.  Our school district is a walking district (no buses) so our kids never have a snow day or a delay.  It is nice and it allows for fall, winter, and spring breaks in addition to the regular holidays time off.  I hope you all have a great day.

SJ - I quickly glanced online at the new Lionel RTR catalog.  It has many neat offerings.  I'll have a deeper look at it and the Signature catalog while I'm in the airport.

Every Christmas we have a candelight service at church and today after Vintage, senors group we go through all the candles, save ones that can be used again and also the little plastic drip cups that don’t have too much wax in them.

I've not been able to figure out how to get a "from" to appear in the left margin of my posts.  Do you know where you set your location in your profile?

Also, for those old church candles that cannot be reused: they make great accelerants for bonfires.  Throw a few of those on top of your logs and let them drip onto the kindling as things heat up and you should be off-n-running!

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 18 in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Looks like the snohizo canons have been set from stun, to kill.  Technically, I don't have to "work" in it anymore, but I have a young nurse that needs to get to Hopkins, a clerk that has to stock paperclips, and a banker who has to do be there for the little ol' bitty that just has to pick the worst weather day to balance her account...  So, who am I kidding...?

Grandson got to watch his Auntie's train go by Cresson, Horseshoe Curve, and Altoona, then immediately asked to go down to the big layout and run the Amtrak Genesis engine.  Princess said the Pennsylvanian was a pretty ride, just a bit long.

Hey, submmbob, with all these planets lined up in my morning sky, am I s'posed to find a live chicken for some ritual...?

Good Morning

Got them ol' dull dull clouds again here. supposed to get to 18F out here though so we are going up.

Today turns out to be running through a list of gottta do's and gotta buys again. Sigh. Better be at them...

Doug: I actually did find some that sound kind of tasty. I'll post some of them up later.

Oh, we here in London only got a slight view of those stars...but the clouds returned to cover them up.

Roy, You never outgrow the need for an In-N-Out Burger. Devil  I just go maybe once every other month or so and opt for just a burger, no doubledouble or cheese, on a lettuce wrap instead of the bun. That brings the salt down to where it is almost healthy.

"Never attribute to malice what can be adequately explained through stupidity"

Cute, but,

I think a bit more malice than stupidity. In this case I delivered the product and discussed what could be done and what would be done. The man has been chroming things for 35 years. He just either did not follow up with his help or he lied straight to me. I had agreed that the rust on the pipes under the engine would not be a problem but he assured me he could work the head pipes. I see no evidence of any attempt to smooth the rust on the head pipes anywhere.  One could of run some emery cloth on them and produced a much better job. In hind site I could of and now would of prep them myself. I guess if it could not be reached with a power tool it was not going to happen.Life goes on.

Good evening all,

Up and down day.   Drive in to work was delayed by weather and a wreck (not involving my vehicle).  Both pains were there today.   Work busy but not overwhelming.  Tried to view Lionel catalogs.   Very difficult.  Did not FlyerChief engines and sets will work with both remote and traditional AC, yet LionChief does not......hmmmm.   Best of all, got to play soccer with high school kids.  Guess who got the first goal of the evening?   Old age and treachery......  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike thats my biggest gripe with lionchief it's a whole new system that will not operate with tmcc or legacy but it is what is being shoved down the throat of the consumer by lionel you can not buy a conventional set from Lionel anymore. it's lionchief only or you have to go to the expensive pieces in the signature catalog

yes it can run on the same track at the same time as your TMCC or Legacy but you can not control it with either so now you basically to be fair have 2 complete system and the newest is like going backwards as you can ( if you buy the special remote they offer for like another $100 I believe I may be wrong there but it's close ) can run a big 4 engines where before with the original system I could run up to 99 engines 9 aux items now you can only run 4 engines am I the only one that see's something wrong here I think so as I here so many liking the lionchief/lionchief+ system.

To me yes it's a great item for a child under 12 or 13 or maybe for something around the christmas tree but thats about it.

Good Evening

CCold and damp out there tonight. We did have a few hours of sun though, which was nice.

Got all the dang runnin' 'roun' doin'/buyin' stuff earlier spent some time at our favorite diner here and then went home. I still have something to do tomorrow but not nearly that much...whew!!!

I see that cornerstone has some nice looking N scale house kits that will fir the bill here. Think I'll order some....

Doug: there are some in those sites that look good. I have to throw some of my own in there as well. I use a fair bit of herbs and spices in mine...no salt/msg seasoning here.
