Gil Reid is the former Asst. Art Director at Kalmbach publishing (Trains Magainze, Model Railroader) in Milwaukee, WI and also a wonderful artist and storyteller. I'm a friend of the family and had known Gil for many years before he passed away back in 2007.

The Cannonball was one of Gil's favorites as it passed through his hometown of Brookfield and ElmGrove WI. He has one print called the "CannonBall". He also featured the "old Cannonball" Milw Rd #171 in a print called "Oconomowoc Snow Train"

I also got him to speak about the Cannonball on tape once and you can find that here on youTube.

Thanks,

Erik Mace

I', attempting to find any information of the MILW trains 12 & 23 necknamed the cannonball which ran to and from watertown WI.

Also is there any information available on the fabled Beer Trains in the late 40's and later?

Thanks for the help
