You need "Classic TOY Trains" forum.

MTH PS-1 is just a sound system built by "QSI" for them.  MTH PS-2 is an MTH designed full digital control system with sound.  It is software based, (upgrades can be downloaded with your home computer) digitly encodes the motor RPM for speed control, and you can controll all sound from the hand held remote including smoke and sound volume.

MTH sell a complete upgrade kit to PS-2 (steam or diesel) for $189 (club member price $149). It does take some skill to install but the instructions are clear (in the form of a book). More on there web page.

Methinks DCS is of no use to the operators of 1:1 scale trains - which is what this part of the Forum is all about.

Sincerely suggest you relocate your question to the model railroad forums.
