I need some help in dating an antique cast iron train. I hope someone on the list can help.
My family and I were rockhounding around Tonopah, Nevada and I came across a few antique bottles. There was a small circular piece of metal poking out of the ground and I pulled on it. It was the smoke stack to a toy cast iron train. It is rusted, and parts are missing, but the locomotive is actually in pretty good shape, considering it was buried in the desert. There is a number on the train, well actually two. They are 109 R and 109 L. I assume this is 109 right and 109 left. I can post a picture if this will help.
Thanks,
Jay
