Kerrby:  You need to provide more information if people are to help you, such as information about your engine (HO or N scale, the maker, model name and catalogue number) whether DCC only or DC and DCC); whether you are already a DC model railroader or just getting started and what you would like to do -DC and DCC layout or DCC only, small or big layout, how many engines etc.

It would be a good idea to first talk to the folks at the hobby store where the engine came from. They may be able to help you decide what you need and can afford, before you post a new query. Post it on the Model Railroader general discussion forum and not on this one.

Happy trains!
