You do not know how much fun you are getting your self into.

The best starter sets are Bachmann. They are inexpensive and run great.

Good advise about about the power pack.

Every thing HO will run on everyones else HO equiptment.

Very soon you will find out you need to build on a level bench work.

Check out "Coming Events" on this web site. Trains swap meets you will find a ton of equiptment cheap.

Just make sure you bench test all engines for a long test time do not let the seller rush you. There is NO returns.

Howdy DUST.  Whatever starter set you shoose in HO, leave the power pack in the box, and pick up a MRC brand controller.

...and, there will be lots of help on the Model Railroader forum, when you need it.

Hi folks, what a great group! My 10 yr. old would like to start his firt train experience! He's thinking of a starter set [HO], then adapt & grow from there.

Any words of wisdom you folks have to offer is greatly appreciated, for him and myself.

Thanks.
