I thought this was a Japanese EMT medical code...

Nothing is more fairly distributed than common sense: no one thinks he needs more of it than he already has.

jobfather, this forum is for those interested in good old fashioned railroading, but 1:1 scale.  Next door on the list is Model Railroader magazine's forum, and you will be sure to get a real earful there.  In fact, if you go over to it and scroll down the list of active threads, one is right up your alley.

You should put this one on one of the Model Railroader Forums.

The rail this  Forum deals with is measured in Lbs. per yard, not a code; and switch machines would be made by someone like G.R.S., U.S. & S., Safetran, etc.

Would like some info from the track experts out there re: Shinohara track products; ie, compared to Peco, Atlas turnouts, flex track, etc; switch machine mating; compatibility with older? Shinohara.
