I have a Chicago Railway Equiptment Co. Max Wear Gauge A. R. A. 63. I picked it up in a antiques shop, and I have no idea what it is used for. The best I can tell, is it is used for measuring wear on brake hanger pins. I'm not 100% sure that is the tools use. I would appreciate all teh help I can get in identifying this tools use.

There were many types of wear gauges, and without the Chicago Railway Equipment catalog, the model number isn't a help.

Do you have a photo or drawing of it?
