Hello,
I grew up in a railroad neighborhood in NE Canton in the 1960's through 1980's. My grandfather worked in the maintenance shops for the Pennsylvania Railroad in Canton, Ohio in the first half of the 20th century. I believe he was transferred from Pittsburgh sometime in the 1930's. That transfer is the reason I am alive today as my mother and father met in Ohio. Unfortunately, my grandfather passed before I was born, so I never got to meet him. All of the old-timers in my neighborhood were retired railroaders but I was not old enough to appreciate them at the time.
I am now older and a railfan because of where I grew up. I am looking for any information or photos of the PRR in Canton, Ohio (specifically the PRR shops located just off of Mahoning Rd. in NE Canton). Anyone have suggestions as to where to look?
Thanks,
Steve
