I have no idea how much they are worth, but if they really are originals I'd suggest you take them to at least two different appraisers: an art expert and an expert in railroadiana for the Lehigh-New England line. Art appraisers aren't too difficult to locate; ask around the better art dealers or, if your town has one, an"artsy"or estate auction house. I bet there are people in your area who could point you toward the railroadiana experts, whose clients would surely salivate over such a rarity. If these oils were ever mass-produced as prints, that would probably figure into the worth of them. Historical societies in the city where the company was founded may be of help, too.
Good luck! And if the Antiques Roadshow has taught me anything, don't try to clean them!
hi! my grandfather was president of the lehigh new england railroad, and was given several original howard fogg paintings. my father has one, and my aunt may have 2 others. would anyone have any idea of their value, or know who would know their worth?
