The crews I know had three things to say about C630M's:

"They ride rough, they run hot, and they'll pull anything".

That's all I know.
B-Dubya -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Inside every GE is an Alco trying to get out...apparently, through the exhaust stack!

I was a railroad switchman for Kaiser Steel Corp. Fontana, Ca. 1969-1983 we had over 12+ alco yard switchers which had been sold off when the mill closed. I'm a member of the Orange Empire Railroad Museum (www.oerm. org), Parris Ca. We have a small number of alco diesels in operating condition. Some members are retired railroad employees. Due to pressing matters at this time I will contact you at a later date with more information I am also interested in alco engines.

I would like to hear from anyone that might have personal experiences, recollections, knowledge, or just memories concerning Alco diesels from an engineman's perspective.
