She's still beautiful!
Months ago, I searched the Internet to learn the whereabouts of the huge engine I loved seeing displayed at Mohawk as a kid.
I live in Maine, but was visiting Tulsa last week. A quick drive through North Tulsa and I spotted the "face" of the boiler from a couple hundred yards away. I parked the rental car and walked across the field surrounding an abandoned factory.
There she is!!!
(I took many digital photos... if I figure out how to post them here, I'll get them aboard)

Anybody who is a rail enthusiest or not, might like to know that one more steam locomotive has been saved from scrap. Well it has been for a while, although its restoration will only make it ready for static display in Tulsa the progress is moving right along. The METEOR train No.4500 made its passenger runs from Oklahoma City thru Tulsa to St Louis in the late 40`s and 50`s before being phased out by diesle. As of this year i have been granted the opportunity to help restore 405 ton Frisco, it is a delight to see a new coat of blue instead of rust. It looks like it will probably be ready to be pulled from its current location to a prepared park on the west side of Tulsa early 2007. I will try to gather some pics to post and answer the best I can to any question of the train or the project.
