Cotton Belt FTs
Posted by SSW9389 on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 10:27 AM
Looking for information on Cotton Belt's second delivery of FT locomotives. Does anyone have or know of EMD builders photos of these units or early in-service photos. The units are part of the SSW #915 and #920 sets of FTs delivered in July 1945. The question being researched is did these units have the extra steps and handrails necessary for couplers as delivered or were these parts added at a later date. From the Extra 2200 South combined SP/SSW roster these units were delivered with drawbars. From Joe Strapac's Cotton Belt Locomotives the renumbering of these units took place 4/49.
