SLIP SWITCHES

IS A SLIP SWITCH SIMILAR TO A 12 1/2 CROSSOVER IN SPECIFICATIONS??

I AM TRYING TO DESIGN A LAYOUT USING ONE AND DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIT IT IN "ON PAPER".

You are on the wrong forum about this question, THE DA.

This is about the 1:1 real trains, although just when the Classic Train era ended is up for grabs.

However, the 12260 LGB slip switch, although it has R1 curves, has the exact same footprint as the 13200 22.5 degree CROSSING (not crossover) that is used with R3 track geometry.

The terminology is a carryover from tinplate days. A crossover has two switches (either left hand or right hand) that allows a train to crossover from one track to another alongside it.  A crossing allows one track to cross another.

I am not familiar with other manufacturers products.
