Wow!  That's amazing!  Is e-bay the best place to sell something like this?

Hard to Find Engine
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, August 3, 2006 4:40 PM
Hi,  I'm hoping you can help me.  I just finished cleaning out my parents' home and found my dad's train set.  The date on the Baby Ruth car says 1939.   I've been able to find approximate prices for the Lionel pieces #1684, 1682, 1680, 1679, and 1689, but can't find any info about the other engine in the box.  He had a Commander Vanderbilt engine.  I can only find one reference to that model on the internet using several search engines.  Can anybody help me figure out what it's worth?  Also, how do I go about finding a buyer for these pieces.  I also have the tracks--not sure if they're all there yet. Just got home with them and haven't had time to clean everything up yet.  Any help/suggestions would be appreciated!
