OK, it took a little looking but I found some info. According to the Westrn Pacific Headlight #26 #501 was bought from the V&T in 1924. It was donated to the Railway & Locomotive Historical Society in 1938 where it was restored to its V&T heritage. It is now on display at the Sacramento Railway Museum in Sacramento,Ca.

BTW- Welcome to the forum

Give me a chance to do some searching. I seem to recall seeing a picture of it not to long ago in a magazine.

Does any one know if the old engine at Gerloch Nevada that was used by Pacific Portland Cement still exists? All old records do not show it being scrapped. If it still exists, it is the only piece of surviving rolling stock from the old Ocean Shore Railroad that went down the coast from San Francisco at the turn of the century
