Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. Now I can see a pic of the ENTIRE locomotive! What a nice looking train - would've loved to have ridden on one. Thanks again

Schenectady Works - Virginian 802
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, May 28, 2006 5:47 PM
Although I am just a beginner when it comes to learning about trains I have collected pictures and other memorablia for quite awhile. I recently came across an old photograph of "Virginian 802". It says Schenectady Works in large print on the side. There is a long line of men in front of the picture so I can't see the wheels or anything. Other than finding out that "Schenectady Works" was part of "American Locomotive Company" which became Alco< I am unable to find any more info as to approximate year, etc. Any help would be most gratefully appreciated. Thank you all so much.
