Classic Trains, as it is or monthly?

I think it's a fabulous magazine great photos, stories, and the layout is good, too.
I like it just the way it is, maybe the quality would suffer if pushed to a month. I have purchased a few of the special issues, and think maybe that might the best alternative to monthly issues.

Life from the telegrapher's viewpoint differs greatly from the right hand seat and the track worker and porter have other perspectives as well. When these folks are gone, the information will be lost forever. Maybe there is some way MR could encourage otherwise recalcitrant(sp?) authors from working with a staff ghost writer to "tell the story".

Each issue now seems to be fresh and original. Perhaps a compromise of bi-monthly such as the Gazette or Light Iron Digest would be appropriate.

Have to agree with the posters who say they'd buy it monthly if the content was there. Although 3 months IS a long time to wait between issues, the wait seems worth it (to me anyway) given the excellent content of each quarterly issue. Tough call though...

I would subscribe to it if it were monthly. Quarterly, it just doesn't seem worth it to me.

Going to a monthly format is an excellent idea. Would the articles still be as in-depth? Might there be fewer stories due to less development time between deadlines?

For me the comprerhensive nature of the articles is what sells the magazine.

As long as you can maintain the quality and content of the articles, going to a monthly format would be like a trip back in time to see SP cab-forwards attacking the snows of the Sierra Nevada Mtn's - Awesome!

I vote to leave Classic Trains as it is. Going monthly would greatly increase the cost. W Stolper , Marionville, Mo.
