When we were going back to Shamokin from Philly to visit relatives when I was a kid, occasionally I could talk my parents into driving up the Turnpike NE extension to Rt 209. That would take us past Lehighton and Jim Thorpe. Loved seeing the LV F3,7s, FAs, RS2,3,11s and the pups. Later the yellow jackets became a favorite. The Baldwins, RS3s and RSD5s on the CNJ weren't bad either.

adrianspeeder,
i forgot to mention theC628s. I am as well a big fan of those, as with all alco engines. They were the best, and i like the I think i can, i think i can sound of their engine. There has been no sound that i have liked more than that, but the sound of an F18 FA Jet with after burners on comes veeeerrrry close.

Agree with adrianspeeder - those 628s (especially in the red livery) were magnificent! Gotta admit the red livery looked good on just about everything that wore it from the PAs/FAs through the U23Bs.

Cool.

My dad grew up in Easton, so thats my connection to the LV.

tmcc, the 420s were awsome, but my favorites are the mighty 628s

I am a fan of the Lehigh Valley, especially all of the C420s they owned.

Modeled the Black Diamond in HO from Sayre to Palmyra including the Auburn Division and the sub to Naples. Switched to O and am now doing the Western Maryland west from Hagerstown. Am I a former fan? Or once a fan, always a fan? I don't know.
