Railroad logo golf balls
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, August 22, 2005 9:25 PM
I collect railroad logo golf balls. I started about ten years ago. I presently have about 80 different balls. Some are for the same railroad, but all are different. Is there any body else who collects this item. I have some extras to swap. I would like a Rock Island, Cotton Belt, Southern, L & N, and Family Lines ball. Or any other RR's that I don't have.

I am sure that someone has one in the bottom of a drawer someplace.

I have a UP one that I found in the park one day. Who makes them?
I was just about to start a thread about this.

I have several UP balls. I even have a Union Pacific Police Department golf ball. It was for a Police department golf outing in Omaha a couple of years ago.

You can buy yourself some balls on the railroad websites.

QUOTE: Lotus098: Who makes them?

All the major golf ball manufacters do special run logos. Usually it's the railroad (or any company) PR department that orders them. Primarily used as give-aways to customers by sales reps. Some usually get doled out to company golf outings. And if the railroad has a company store they can get sold through that also.
