M&StL Switch Stand
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, July 9, 2005 7:10 PM
I've just got started cleaning and refurbishing an old Minneapolis & St. Louis
switch stand ("Star" switch stand produced by Pettibone, Mulliken & Co.,
patented in 1904). It still has the lantern mount at the top of the mast (no
lantern, of course), and it's missing the red target sign.

I'm hoping someone may be able to help find diagrams, blueprints, color
photos, etc. of M&StL switch stands so I can get a reproduction target made
out of iron plate. I believe the M&StL's targets were circular and probably all
red in color. I see one photo in Gene Green's "Minneapolis & St. Louis
In Color"
(Morning Sun Books - pg. 90) that is the same type of stand I
have, but it doesn't show the target very well.

If anyone can help, please e-mail me at glenn_highland@yahoo.com.

Thanks in advance...

Glenn

I recomend that you contact the Chicago and North Western Historical Society for info about all M&STL questions. I hope this helps.
