Help finding the C&E Plymouth diesel switcher
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, June 13, 2005 2:10 AM
Ok this is a long shot but thought I would try. I am trying to locate the whereabouts of the Cassville & Exeter diesel switcher (a Plymouth 40T???). Please view the link listed here for an old photo by Jim Sands <http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/misc-c/caer2001ajs.jpg>. The C&E operated 4.9 miles of track in SW Missouri & closed in the late 1950's? After long searches on the internet I came across the above photo but unfortunately Jim didn't remember the location back in 1970 other than it being in Green Bay, WI. I've contacted a few museums around Green Bay but no luck. I'm hoping it hasn't been scrapped. If it is still around I would imagine it's in a different color scheme by now. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also looking for other pics of similar engines or photos of the original in operation. I was just hoping it may still be sitting on a forgotten siding in the back 40 of a museum somewhere. Or restored would be even better! Let me know. Thanks!
