I think the last steam service was on the NJ&NY Railroad (currently the Pascack Valley Line)which terminated at the Woodbine Yard in Spring Valley , N.Y. in 1954 . Then the power on this line and most of the Erie suburban lines was Alco RS-3's and Geeps.

When was steam last regularly run on the Erie out of Hoboken, N.J. ?[?]
