I've never understood why Kalmbach has "Classic Trains" and "Classic Toy Trains" magazine titles. Before Classic Trains there was a similar magazine called "Vintage Rails", once that magazine stopped it seemed to me Kalmbach should have changed the then-new Classic Trains name to Vintage Rails. (I might be wrong, but I was a Vintage Rails subscriber and I think they worked out a deal when they stopped publishing it that the remainder of the subscriptions went to Classic Trains.)

Does anyone know the part numbers for springs and brushes for this train? Or where I might find someone or a company that does. I've purchased a set already and the springs are not the right size.

Try Henning's Trains in Lansdale PA.  www.henningstrains.com

They've got a specialty line of pre-war Lionel parts and probably have exactly what you're looking for.  They're nice people too.

Oh, you're not the first one to confuse this site with "Classic TOY Trains" and you won't be the last, trust me.  It's OK.

And Welcome aboard, even if you got on the wrong train!

Obviously belongs on the Classic Toy Trains Forum, where help just possibly might be obtained.

Helllo, I have a Lionel 318E train that I had as a child. Its the Bild - A - Loco model. So far I've changed the wheels out on the engine, cleaned up the track and bought a used transformer for it. The engine can be wired directly to the transformer and the engine runs. The engine has been taken apart and the problem now are the brushes and springs. One of the springs is broken so the engine will not run on the track. I'm assuming that is the problem. Does anyone know the part numbers for springs and brushes for this train? Or where I might find someone or a company that does. I've purchased a set already and the springs are not the right size.
