Since Fort Bragg is not on the mainline of either Seaboard Air Line or Atlantic Coast Line, in WW2, how do trains get to Fort Bragg and how do troop trains get back on the ACL or SAL mainlines.

The A line and Milan Yard are, of course, ex-ACL.
I was stationed at Fort Bragg 1954-1956. I believed there was a freigt connection to the then double=track ACL main l8ine, that may have been used at one time for troop trains. However, during my time of service there, all incoming and outgoing troop movemrnts were by Army and/or charterd buses to or from the ACL Fayetteville Station. Emphasis on "my time of service there."
I used the ACL to and from the ACL Fayetteville Station many times and the SAL's Southern Pines Station a fewer number of times.
