Is the Sibley, MO, Bridge, the only single-track portion left?
For whatever reason, I could not post this question on the Trains Forum.
I will appreciate an answer. Thanks.
Don't know, but if you want to be technical...
Do they still have paired single tracks with Wabash east of KC? And that SFe track hasn't been doubled? Likewise with the Alton west of Joliet?
The paired track with the Alton (GM&O/ICG) was discontined in the ICG era. There are a couple of places in Kansas where there is still single track but the use of different districts in each direction takes care of traffic requirements.
Isn't there still a single track bridge near the Kansas-Oklahoma stateline?
RC, you mean dividing traffic between the CB&Q main and the AT&SF main Chi-KC?
I'm guessing he means west of Emporia -- maybe he means there's some single track between Ellinor and Wellington but trains can run via Newton.
