The excerpt mentions the large Sullivan Mine in Kimberley, BC.  I assumed it was near the Trail, BC smelter, but I see it was some distance away.  Do you know if the Sullivan Mine had its own smelter?  Is Trail the only smelter left in western Canada?

 There are 2 Smelters in British Colunbia. Trail and Kitimat. 

There are numerous secondary smelters in Alberta (7), also in Thompson Manitoba and the big smelter in Flin Flon is partially in Saskatchewan
