Cooper Union's still there, and so's its Great Hall, not too different from how it looked in 1860 when Abraham Lincoln gave his "Cooper Union Address,"  the speech that set him on the path to the White House.

Actor Sam Waterston re-enacted the speech in 2004, and very well too!  Here it is if anyone's curious, broadcast on C-SPAN at the time, and about an hour and a half long.  But it's a quick hour and a half if you care to watch, trust me!  I remember the original broadcast in 2004.  Sam grabs your attention quickly and doesn't let go!
