The City of New Orleans  enroute to Mardis Grau is pulling in and here is two classic drinks-

Ingredients
 
2 1/2 oz. 

rye whisky*

sugar cube

dashes Peychaud's bitters

dash Angostura bitters

absinthe**

lemon peel

 
 
Directions
 
  1. In an Old-Fashioned glass, muddle a sugar cube with a few drops of water.
  2. Add several small ice cubes, then rye whiskey, Peychaud's bitters, and Angostura bitters. Stir well. 
  3. Roll a few drops of absinthe around a second, chilled Old-Fashioned glass until its inside is thoroughly coated. Pour off the excess. 
  4. Strain the contents of the first glass into the second. Garnish with a twist of lemon peel.

Today and all day we have "Red Beer" which is tomato juice and beer which is a local favorite for UP railroaders in Council Bluffs IA.

Our special drink tonite is a Sidecar- Main alcoholBrandy

Ingredients2 oz Cognac, 3/4 oz Lemon juice, 3/4 oz Triple sec
PreparationPour all ingredients into cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well and strain into cocktail glass.
ServedStraight up (without ice)
DrinkwareCocktail glass
