4. White River Jct, VT

White River Jct still has two yards.  The former Central Vermont yard is still mostly intact and in use by New England Central.  The former B&M yard south of WRJ Union station still has a couple of tracks used by Vermont Rail System's Washington County for interchange with Pan Am and NECR.  B&M also had a small yard across the river at West Lebanon (Westboro station) NH. A couple of tracks are still in use on NECR's ex-Claremont Concord operation there. The area north of the B&M South yard, through the passenger station and on the main line to just short of the north switch of the CV yard was "joint" and operated under B&M rulebook.  Also "Joint" were the wye and Connecticut River bridge to the ball signal on the NH side.     For passenger operations switching rotated between B&M And CV crews, with B&M or CV engines used accordingly.

From way back (over 100 years ago) Rio Grande and Colorado Midland shared the Grand Jubction yard, and a joint line east of there.

Richmond Fredricksburg & Potomac's potomac Yard in Alexandria VA. Some of the tracks were even wired for PRR electric engines.

Of course, don't forget Clearing Yard on BRC, "serving twelve masters":  ATSF, CB&Q, C&EI, EL, MON, GTW, WAB, IC, PRR, RI, C&O, SOO.

The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

In today's world, with all the pools, leasing and run-throughs, you can see any railroad's power just about anywhere. Back 60-80 years, it was different.  Can anyone remember any yards where multiple railroads met.  My examples are all from pictures, since I'm too young to remember them.
