Macleans magazine's main article about D-Day
Thank you, Vince!
Some footage of "steam locomotive at war":
Thanks for the "Canadian Perspective" Vince! I always appreciate learning what everyone else did on D-Day, the US Army certainly wasn't alone. Americans, Brits, Canadians, Free French, and exiles from the Nazi occupied countries were all there, and got the job done.
By the way, remember James Doohan, "Scotty" from "Star Trek?" He was there as a lieutenant with one of the Canadian artillery regiments on Juno Beach. Was wounded in the right hand and in the legs, but not before he eliminated a German machine gun nest.
Years later after he became an actor he was asked if he ever wanted to direct and he said "No, I gave enough orders to other people during the war. That was enough!"
