I haven't either, but I know there's posters on this and the "Trains" Forum that have ridden it and as Balt says, raved about it.  From what I've seen it looks like a great ride at a very reasonable price.

You may want to bring up the question on the "Trains" Forum for a little more exposure.  Try doing it under "Steam and Preservation."  You can open the topic exactly the way you did here.

I've seen the train. Never taken the ride. During my 6 years in Cleveland, I made many trips to Trolleyville, with my sons. We also rode the one train out of Sugar Creek in Amish Country, about 75 miles or so south of Cleveland.

Yep. took a ride last fall. Train takes you threw the Emerald Necklace a National Park up a river valley to the outskirts of Akron. Very scenic. In the summer you hardly see any houses. Nice equipment nice helpful people that sometimes uses the foamer 765 to pull scenic extras. I took the grandkids and they enjoyed it also.

It probably is.

I did a little research and found the Ohio and Erie Canal ran through what's now the Cuyahoga National Park.  I believe what's in the photo is the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail.

Oh, and that's not the Erie Canal of "I've got a mule and her name is Sal..." fame.

Before the railroads came along there were quite a few canals built here in the US for cheap, efficient transportation.  More than most people realize.

Yep.  The Rockside station:

is near the intersection of Rockside and Canal roads where the Cuyahoga River and the canal run very close to each other.

Back ibn the 80's before they built the walking trail it was fun to find these things hidden in woods.

Quiet ride, good Amish cooking....especially the broasted chicken.

Finding those old lock-works in the woods must have given you the same rush you'd get as if you'd found Mayan ruins!

All sorts of neat stuff in the woods.  You just have to get out there and look.
