Fr.Al I read on another forum that someone had taken a mixed train from Portsmouth to Manchester, New Hampshire on the B&M in 1957. I wonder if anyone out there has any information about this or any other mixeds that the B&M may have run. Did they operate any mixed trains in Massachusetts as well?

The mixed must have replaced the doodlebug, originally gas-electric with a diesel prime-mover replacement, that I rode on this run in 1952.
I believe there is a whole book on this, by a college professor who made a study of the B&M after meeting one of its employees. This is "High Green and the Bark Peelers" by R.M.Neal and in my opinion it should be much better known than it seems to be. (As happens, I discovered it two days ago in a local hobby shop...)
