Picture above is of the Hamilton and Dundas Railway, the one on top being a blow up of the larger scene shown below it. Apparently old #51 was aquired from New York City and began life as a horse car. 

The H&D started construction in 1875, first run and regular service 1879. They used Baldwin "dinky", steam dummies, as below:
