A special thank you Mr. Schmitt, for sharing your knowledge and photographs of Chinese Railways with us here on the Classic Trains Forum. Railroaders, vocational or enthusiast, fan or modeler alike, are a special breed of human beings whose interest has no borders or walls to prevent exchanging information with ech other or engaging in friendship on a global level.
In these very sensitive times in which we live, there are many men and boys (not to exclude the ladies* either) who are moved by the sight and sound of a train, be it at home in the USA, Canada, or Mexico; Europe, Austrailia, New Zealand; the war torn countries of the Middle East, even to North Korea; each one of us share a common interest: TRAINS!

A pity that The World's Greatest Hobby can't run the governments, on this, our wonderful planet we call home: Earth. The worst that might happen would be a war of the gauges but not one killing each other because of the color of our skin, race, religion, creed, or heaven forbid, pleasure.
This isn't to be considered a sermon but it still can't help to ask everyone to earnestly pray for world peace. Afterall, what do we have to loose? The most beautiful word in every language spoken on this planet we all call home happens to be a four letter word in English: LOVE! Spanish has four too: AMOR Italian has five: AMARE! German also contains five: LIEBE! Try it; you'll LOVE it!

You're a lucky man Mr. Schmitt. You still have your two cents worth! An angry army of termites turned my wooden nickel into a pile of sawdust***. Now I'm saving my $$$ to purchase a USA Trains large scale pulpwood car to store it in. What a bummer!:(
