Congratulations to all my American cousins on your very impressive and successful Inauguration Day ...as the old saying goes "May you live in interesting times"...onward and upward and the best to all of you.
I second that, the U.S. is our biggest, friendliest and most important neighbor and trading partner, and we share the longest undefended international border in the world. May the spirits of peace, prosperity and cooperation continue in the future.
And to keep this railway-related kudos to Amtrak and the Washington Metro for handling the additional passenger load and running extra trains for the inauguration.
Greetings from Alberta

Thank you gentlemen, and God bless and thank you Canada!
And I wouldn't pay too much attention to all the "Trump Derangement Syndrome" going on down here, politics cooks some people's brains. Most of us are willing to give him a chance, and if he doesn't get it done, in four years it's "Goodbye Big D!"
Isn't democracy wonderful? As the great Sir Winston Churchill once said, "It's the worst form of government imaginable, until you compare it to all the rest!"
Well, in a way it might only be two years. Every president loses seats in Congress in following election (I think it's only not happened twice in like 125 years). If things go bad, the Senate would probably swing Democrat in 2018; if things go really bad, the House could too. Then there'd be two years of deadlock with nothing being done.
Call the dispatcher and get routed back on the mainline towards railroading.......
I was under the assumption that "May you live in interesting times" was considered to be a curse.
CSSHEGEWISCH I was under the assumption that "May you live in interesting times" was considered to be a curse.
It's supposed to be a curse, but it pales compared to the ones I learned in the Marines! Hoo, boy...

Channeling Sargeant Schultz?
Trains, trains, wonderful trains. The more you get, the more you toot!

CSSHEGEWISCH Penny Trains Firelock76 Hoo, boy... Channeling Sargeant Schultz? Sergeant Stryker would be more likely.
More like Gunnery Sergeant Hartmann from "Full Metal Jacket."
And in R. Lee Ermey's portrayal of same, you're looking at the real deal, he WAS a Marine drill instructor!
Sgt. Schulz quote was "I know NOTH-THING!".
