Passenger Train crash at classic Hoboken Terminal
Posted by wrmcclellan on Thursday, September 29, 2016 9:27 AM

Hit NBC news this morning. Occured around 9 am EDT. Train ran through buffer and reported into the terminal. Video showed a lot of platform damage but could not tell if the terminal was involved. If you have not been there it is a beautiful terminal from the golden age of train travel. Prayers for those involved.

Regards, Roy

One fatality, a poor woman on the platform who was literally in the wrong place at the wrong time.

It could have been worse, at last report the train was doing only 30 mph at the time of the crash.  I won't speculate on the cause, not enough information at this tme.

And yes, the old Lackawanna Hoboken Terminal is a historic gem!  I've been there, there's enough history there to make you swoon!
