There were two locations where the PRR & B&O had paralell trackage.  One was between JO Tower in Akron and Warwick, OH, the other was between Newark & Columbus.  In each case each carrier owned one of the tracks and the other carrier owned the other track.  Between Akron & Warwick, the PRR dispatched the segment.  Between Newark & Columbus the B&O dispatched the segment.

Never too old to have a happy childhood!

B&O's line through Columbus went from Pittsburgh PA through Wheeling WV, Zanesville, Newark, Columbus and Washington Court House before joining the main line to Cincinnati and St. Louis at Midland City OH.

2012 Ohio state railroad map shows Wheeling-Columbus operated by Columbus and Ohio River (Ohio Central) and Columbus-Cincinnati by Indiana and Ohio Railway (Genessee and Wyoming).

B&O In Ohio

Hi, I know that the B&O had a yard and engine facility in Columbus, OH. I am interested  to know if there was a Columbus - Newark division / branch. If so, I would like to know where the branch ran to. Thank you for any help you folks can give me. Happy New Year to all!
