I am going to tap a close friend and very reliable map maker for the answer to this question.

UPDATE....ok here's the map, courtesy of my good friend (and Kalmbach map maker) Bill Metzger.

I just rec'd a note from a reliable source that "CENTRAL" station also served the NYC and that the caption in CT is in error.

Thanks for the correction as to the bridge ownership, I stand corrected.  Central Station serving the NYC, was this then accessed by the NYC via the B&O?  If so was the Big 4 Bridge routing used as a freight only route?

But when did their last regularly scheduled passenger train to and from Louisville operate?

No, they really owned it.    Due to the various accidents, the Louisville and Jeffersonville Bridge Company was financially strapped after building the bridge, and later in 1895 sold it to the Indianapolis-based Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis Railway, also known as the Big Four Railroad. This gave the railway its first entry into the Louisville market, although the railroad would have likely used the bridge even if they had not bought it, as they desired access to Louisville

Dave or John may correct me if I am wrong, but the NYC Big 4 never went into Kentucky, the Big 4 Bridge, not really owned by the CCC&StL, you mentioned was used merely as part of a connecting route from the Big 4 with the L&N in Louisville.

Dave, I agree with you. I do not recall seeing any NYC passenger service in Louisville at that time. If I were at home, I could lookit up in my WWII era issues of the Guide .

I do not remember the Central, via the Big Four, serving Louisville with scheduled passenger service during WWII.  I think they only provided freight service during WWII.  They may have run passenger specials for Derby Days in the early Post-WWII period..

The latest issue of Classic Trains, back piece, has a photo of Louisville Union Station during the war.    The caption mentions that Union served the L&N, PRR and Monon and that CENTRAL station served the C&O, IC, SOU and B&O.

NO MENTION of the CCC&STL. (NYC), which I know existed because of the BIG 4 bridge that is actually still in place and used as a bikeway across the Ohio.
