The last FAs and FB on Penn Central were the 1302, 1330-1331, 1333, and 3393. Respectively an FA-2, 3 FA-1s, and an FB-2. The last four units were ex-New Haven. All were apparently available for service as of 3/1/1971. All were seen in the Altoona deadline on June 7, 1971. All data from Extra 2200 South, see the first two issues in 1971.

All PRR FAs were traded in by the time of the merger.

There's a photo of an ABA set of FAs on page 33 of J. David Ingles FA article part 2. The first two units are in New Haven paint, but have PC numbers. See page 33 July 1975 Trains.

Fact checking again on this article page 79. The New Haven had 50 FAs and FBs, and the Pennsy had 32 FAs and 20 FBs. The Central had 124 FAs and 73 FBs. I'll see if anything turns up about the last PC FA.

Yes, and I believe it is in the hands of a NRHS Chapter and has been repainted into the cigar band scheme or is that museum/tourist RR in Connecticut?

As it turns out, PC 1302 was rebuilt into LIRR cab car 600.

The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

Alco Cab Units on Penn Central

IIRC, in the recently article in Classic trains, the author said that Alco FA-2, former NYC 1302, was the last Alco cab unit in service on PC.

But I seem to recall some photos in RMC in the early 70s of an FABA-1 set in NH colors quite in the early 1970s and finally painted in PC black with the addition of "ghetto bars". Anyone know the dates?
