Left in place to rot in the urban jungle: watch?v=YzqiYIpRItU
Did not know about this, until by chance, I stumbled there. Anyone know of the history behind this?
where and when?
Nearest can tell is this is in Philadelphia, might be possible? I know something happened there awhile back, such as a sudden suspension of service, but forget the exact details. Rueful video in that these were running at one time, and sad that they are in the derelict condition they are in now.
Where this can be found is on YouTube if that is what you're asking.
I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.
I don't have a leg to stand on.
Thanks for the detailed information.
Shame that there are a few that cannot leave something alone that does not belong to them. At the end of the video there appears to be some cars in reasonable condition inside the barn. At least these are out of the weather.
Wonder if a place like Illinois Railway Museum would be interested in restoring one of these to operation?
Does not the IRM already have two PCC's, one, a post-WWII "Green Hornet," operational, one a prewar awaiting restoration?
In addition to the streetcar PCC's, the IRM also has a rapid transit PCC set.
There are also a number of Boeing cars from MBTA.
mbta boeing cars--- in the weeds or at irm?
