Reading T-1 - but where?
Posted by 03 1008 on Sunday, August 3, 2014 11:42 AM

On the German website "Eisenbahnstiftung Joachim Schmidt" a photo is posted of a Reading RR T-1 Northern. Unfortunately the photographer and the location are unknown to the publishers. Hopefully at least the place can be identified:

I'm pretty sure that photo was taken during 1956, when several T1s were leased to the Pennsylvania. The location appears to be the north end of Enola yard, outside of Harrisburg, PA. If you look in the far background, you can see the Rockville bridge across the Susquehanna River.

Nice photo of a great engine!

My guess is also entering Enola - never ridden a train in or out of Enola but have driven US15 that runs parallel to Enola many times.

Never too old to have a happy childhood!
